I was planning a trip to europe for the past 6 months, finally it happened!! I will take you through the different places that i went.
We made the bookings almost 1 month before we had planned the trip and got great discounts!!
We have a few friends who are living in Amsterdam, they suggested for our Hotel Reservations we should try AccorHotels.com
The Accor Group has Hotels ranging from the High End to the Mid Range Hotels, but they are absolutely safe and the staff was courteous and helpful.
Amsterdam
My Hubby had decided we will only take direct flights, so we booked the KLM Flight from Delhi to Amsterdam. He was right as it saved us a lot of time and trouble. We reached Amsterdam at 5:30 AM and wow it was bright daylight. Our friends were there to recieve us at the Schipol Airport and we took the bus from the airport to their Home. My first reaction in Amsterdam was that it looks like Delhi, Probably as I was a little Jetlagged :)
Anyways the roads are way cleaner and the public trasport is amazing.
Our First Day
We slept for a while after getting to their place and I woke up around noon. The days are absolutely huge as the sun rise in summers is at around 4 AM and sun sets at 11 Pm. You can do absolutely anything as the Day never Ends!!
Around Noon we went to get our first look around Amsterdam. We were staying near the Biggest Mall in Amsterdam (ya can u belive it!) and as it was the shopping season, we had amazing fun. On the First Day we shopped till we dropped and didn't venture outside the Mall at all.
The Shops usually close around 5 PM and that when we finally said bye to the Mall. After that we enjoyed a cup of Hot Chocolate for me and Beer for Hubby in a small bistro.
We went back home around 7 pm and thought we will have an early night. After Dinner we went for a drive and saw a little bit of the CountrySide.
What is amazing about Amsterdam is the Clean Roads, The Amazing Canals, Ducks by the Roadside and the Flowers and yeah my Hubby will include "Beer". You wouldn't believe the amazing flowers that they have. They are huge and all over the place. The size of a sunflower is about 3 times the size of a sunflower in India.
